We then grouped up and the 6 of us got into our bus and were on the road from Ankara to Antalya. ... of Chapmans Peak Drive except this was 200 km long!!The excellent road twisted and turned, hugging the coast around hairpin bends,with this aquamarine water always in sight. We got off the bus in Kas, this very cute seaside town. We walked down to the harbour and found a bench where we could enjoy an ice cold beer and our gourmet sarmies which we had made in Fethiye!!! Today was designed to be a vacation from touring, a day to do whatever you wanted. So I took an early morning walk to the ATM, grocery, and Gloria Jeans; two-hour boat ride; leisurely lunch and dinner in an outdoor cafe; afternoon walk past shops; and sat in the pension garden. Another couple of hours down the mountains and we were on the coastal plateau known as the Turquoise Coast. Fairly flat land, much warmer, roses were blooming, resort hotels and lots of fancy stores for the rich tourists who came to shop. Fields were being readied for planting, traffic was heavy, temperature went up quickly into 75+.
