Our return trip to Croydon was relatively uneventful. Traffic slowed smoothly and, apart from my not following the GPS and Robyn's advice, we soon had our Volvo back at NexT where it was given a clean bill of health i.e. no damage.

It was a really nice evening. Pete cooked a nice dinner and Bron ...

I think I stared at the poor lady in silent rage for several ...

With the directions provided to me by my host I was able to navigate myself through the airport to the train station. After arriving in east Croydon I transferred to a tram that took me to a station just down the street from where I would be staying. Unfortunately I had arrived too early to check in, but my host, Joseph allowed me to leave my luggage ...

... to visit. The museum holds an amazing collection of Soane’s drawings, models, sculpture and his art collection, which include Hogarth and Turner paintings. I highly recommend this museum, its small but a wonderful insight to a man who was a leading architect and ego of his era. There where two clocks, one made by Velliumy, of which Soane designed the case, based on the monument he designed for his wife’s tomb. This design was later used as the base for ...
