... test-ride it and it is fine (newbie again,) so we end up getting it.

The idea is to head out tomorrow morning, beating the traffic leaving the city and getting a nice full day to reach our destination. The day that we rent the bike we completely take advantage of it and go about 1 hour and a half south of the city of Puerto Princesa. We pass through beautiful scenic views and arrive at a Iwahig Prison & Penal Farm.

Despite the brown out meaning our fan cut out at around 6am, we slept well in our beach hut. After a quick morning swim we grabbed a pancake breakfast and wandered down the very picturesque beach.
