    ... the hatchlings were underway. A really knowledgable woman from the volunteer group was there to check that everything was going ok. It was magical to watch these tiny loggerhead turtles follow the moonlight to the sea. Nia followed one with her red torch from the nest right down the beach and into the waves.     ... within the guidelines. Those who get in trouble are almost always doing something they shouldn't.

    We had our last dinner in the Gold Coast at our favorite spot: the Kurrawa Surf Club. While waiting for our table we played the "Pokies" loosing $10. Being a Thursday night the place was packed, but we were out of there and back in our room by nine. We packed and got ready for our flight to Adelaide in the morning.

    ... in a couple of serious walks to get some training for his trek in October. There is a great walking track along the coast here and he also managed the bush track up Mt Coolum. Information said it was a two hour return trip but David managed to do it in one hour. So just to prove it wasn't a fluke he did it again the next day. Now he wonders why his calves are a little sore.

    Left Hervey Bay this morning around 11.00 in threatening weather. Ray assured us that it probably wouldn't rain! Wrong!!! It didn't stop raining all day! Not cold, but definitely wet!
