Escaping the typhoon...just!
... down at this point. Our bus had to stop in the middle of the road and reverse due to fallen trees! We went to the nearest hotel and were both thankful for not being on the bus in such terrible conditions!
The next morning we awoke to hear no blowing gales, or the lashing of rain from outside. We went out for breakfast; to our amazement it was a clear sunny day, but the typhoon had left its mark with trees and debris scattered everywhere!

... met de slaaptrein richting Ninh Binh (zuidelijker dan Hanoi) hadden we het gehad met het lopen en de warmte. Dus hebben we ons vandaag heerlijk een dagje in luxe gegund. We zijn naar het grootste hotel gelopen en hebben een dagje bij hun zwembad gezeten. Kusjes, knuffels en lebbers van Ol en Ed. Incredible scenery in Tam Coc
So after our very long bus journey we finally arrived in Ninh Binh at 6am, and luckily found somewhere to stay after waking up the night guard.
We all went and slept a bit more before booking our trip to Tam Coc the next day.
We took a taxi to Tam Coc and paid for our boats. Me and nath went in one and tom and elliot went in another, they were rowing boats which made a nice change from motor ...
