I am sitting in the Poseidon dive centre, about to eat lunch! My first dive was weird and wonderful, breathing underwater the weird bit and the wonderful being the wildlife. Except the flies when you get out, which are absolutely everywhere without question. They are so annoying! Thankfully though I'm starting to get used to them. For me Dahab was a time to just relax, read a couple of books from the travellers library, sleep and relax a bit more! The hotel is built on terraces down the side of the hill with massive mountain outcrops behind us and a view across the Gulf of Acqaba to Saudi Arabia in front of us. In the wadis, the very flat valley areas where flood waters rush through from the mountains, odd spindly trees grow. This seems to be the only vegetation that survives here ...
