Our free day in Antalya, yeah! We got up and had a relatively leisurely breakfast for us, 8am. After a bit of organising we headed off to explore the old city of Antalya which is about a 10 minute walk from our hotel. The weather is stunningly good - clear blue skies and sunshine - so everyone is in a good frame of mind and happy to be wandering around outside. The old town was established between 138-159 BC (just ...

We left the hotel this morning to head to the white terraces of Pamukkale. By the way, I won the battle with the hotel - yes, one up for the tourist! This morning we walked down to the Port area with stunning views over the water to snow capped mountains from the Taurus range.

Lots of locals and tourists around as it was a lovely sunny day. Heaps of cafs and restaurants. We walked around the water for a while and sat in the sun.

Antalya is a lovely city - very laid back and a nice vibe about it. The sun helps!

A six hour bus trip from Konya to Antalya on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. It is Turkey's biggest sea resort and in 2013 was the third most visited city in the world after Paris and London. It has 300 days of sunshine a year! Beats Melbourne!!

We travelled through stunning mountain countryside with snow capped mountains with the temperature falling to zero degrees. Some of the mountains were ...

... was a maze of small, hilly one way streets barely wide enough for one car. Our rental has a manual transmission but it was very difficult to get into first gear. After stalling three times on a small hill, the car's back bumper was about one inch from hitting a building. With people staring at us with amusement I finally worked it out and we were on the move. We found our way out of the maze and onto a main ...
