... for the day and with iPad in hand, we motored off to the hardware store. This type of store is not on the tourist hit list so it was a little way out of town. Initially we couldn’t get the electric start working on the bike, so the owner of the shop showed us how, seemed simple for her.

We rode about 10-12 kilometers along the major highway away from Patong Beach. The bike was low on petrol, so ...

... reception by the driver to take him to Phuket. As they sped along the main road Battery Boy stared aimlessly out the window into the thick jungle vegetation, the paper with the list of names screwed up in a ball in his clenched left fist.

Happy Songkran everyone! It is absolute madness here. Locals and tourists alike crowd the streets with water guns, hoses and buckets. There are trash bins filled with water and trucks rolling down the street with huge blocks of ice to chill the water. No one is safe. Women, children, cars, motorcycles, people with luggage, everyone is fair game. I should have invested in a water gun and I think I still might of the celebration is as crazy on Phi Phi as it is ...

    Another quick update

... a walk down to dinner and such but it was still hard to keep dry. The footpaths were flooded with water, as were the roads. Many of the street stalls close up for the night once it has begun to rain. It was nice and breezy and much cooler than the day time which is what I enjoy. Last night I had a whole snapper BBQ'd. What I've noticed is when the Thai people are serving fish, they give you lime instead of lemon. I ...
