... of which he was never without. The temples were beautiful, ornate and colorful. And the grounds were immaculate. People would take flowers and light incense, after talking to locals later we found out this was to bring luck. We made our way round the temples, before heading back to Patong.

Mother and I were both very excited for Thursday. Our itinerary led us to believe that we would be skimming about in pristine waters all day, able to drop anchor and swim or snorkel whenever we felt the desire. Both shattered but cleaned up and I walked the beach took an hour or two and interspursed with a few swims, great waves to body surf and the water is a perfect temperature.At our digs we have huge room and proper bathroom, a nice change from some places we stay at but all part of the fun.

... do not offend anyone while you are travelling. Eg when it is and isn't okay to rock your short shorts/skirts. Do not barter with someone unless you intend on purchasing their products. Considering most people in Thailand work for 500 baht a day, which is roughly $15 AU, it's a waste of their time. Expect the unexpected. Thailand is definitely a place where anything goes. If you want to light fireworks on the beach, ask a guy with lanterns for "bang bangs". Get a mobile phone SIM card ...
