Canals wind throughout the city; tourists take canal boat rides, photographing the uplifting architecture, and the swans, which are protected by the government and quite well fed. Bruges, in addition to their chocolates, beer, waffles, and Belgian fries, has been well known since the 15th century for its lace making by hand; in fact, Bruges has become a ...

... and 18th centuries, which really adds to the atmosphere. I actually believe this goes for a very large portion of the center, because when you step into Bruges it is as close as going back in time as you're going to get.
Taking it easy comes with the territory, so we did whatever we felt like doing, whenever we wanted to. This was a little bit of a departure from my usual over planning, but I do think the trip I took through June and ...

    Barbequing Marshmallows

A travel blog entry by jaugustyn on Nov 05, 2012

... my face was getting next to the fire haha. Then I "barbeque" my own marshmallow and tell them to all take a look at the perfection haha. We were all laughing and having a good time. Really made my day. :)

That has to be one of my favorite memories so far from being at the center. I have been really blessed by being able to be here in Belgium and especially to be at this center and this little piece in time was just one small reminder of that.

    Love you all,
