Urban camping is a far cry from quiet solitude

... really like that the grass extended almost to the shoreline. There was about 20-30 feet of sand between the grass and the lake. Enough for the kids to have room to build sandcastles while close enough for us adults to chill on the grass instead of the sand.

All in all, a good trip - although I am in no hurry to return to Valens Lake. Just not our style - we like to feel like we're deeper in the wilderness.

... heckle the opposition we managed to get into the final...
Then Horror of Horror we were beaten by an all women's team, Ruth and Shelly...
The indignity of it... Got lovely prizes for runners up though..

All then retired to the FOOD again... boy these people know how to put on a feed!!

It was a fantastic evening.. we had soo much fun
I don't think were the only ones exhausted by the time all went home..

Looking down a street, I saw one more church. Only on getting closer did I realize it was the cathedral in the Zocalo. I crossed over on the edge of the great square for one final picture of Mexico. The square itself sat empty, roped off. Dunno if the military were trying to limit the location of protestors, riot gear again seen.

I proceeded to get disoriented, brilliantly without a map to track down the street names. I did see more churches but ...

... well know this is no small miracle! I am traditionally the girl throwing a bunch of **** into her bag at the last minute and screeching into the airport parking lot at the last possible second, barely making the flight.

My mom arrives on Thursday night and we are doing last minute trip stuff on Friday (waxing, pedicures, last minute shopping) before leaving Friday night - then I'll be able to get excited....but in the mean time, I need more hours in the day!

... features a chest of draws where you can put your things, a great big mirror, a window with a view and our plant. He likes it up on the window sill in the day and on the draws at night. When open, the vent in our room blasts ice cold air conditioning, however in winter apparently it's the opposite and is much hotter down here than the upstairs portions of the house. Hopefully that's right because its only a few days into autumn and they layers are ...
