ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city I“d love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilman... upon me it feels very strange and somewhat daunting. But to my knowledge no one has ever died from teaching children so I am sure I will survive.... My Amazon book order should arrive soon to inspire me. I am really looking forward to discovering the 100 things you can do with a paper plate. Life is never going to be the same!!
More when I start travelling...
... for 2 showers each and dish washing water. In France filling up the water tank was pretty easy and cheap (2-3 Euro) via staying in an Aire d'service. In Italy, it was not immediately obvious where we could fill up the water - a lot less signs than in France... but we have found fill up points on the highways and managed a lot more free/wild camping in Italy then we did in France... in fact we have not stayed in a designated campsite at all in Italy. Need to talk to a ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74... and just a main for Dee. This way, we could share the entree and dessert, without breaking the bank. For our entree we chose salad nicoise, as we figured when in Rome.... it was very nice (no pun intended) and Dee is already pumped to make it back home.
Thus concluded our stay on the French Riviera, a place we have definitely earmarked as somewhere to come back to, however we'll make sure its summer next time (and Dee will get a tan before arriving, so as not to offend the locals). Next stop, Barcelona.
... free wi-fi, a pool, bar, store, oven fired pizza place and bakery, we settled in. I think we will stay here for a couple of days.
We meet Joe from the UK and Pete and Jack for New Zealand. They are all here looking for jobs, actually Pete is on a cruise ship and sales for New York on June 1, Jack found a job and Joe is still looking. Joe has traveled a lot and been to most place we have.
Apparently there are a lot of young people ...
... that walked by me. This Friday I am leaving for Spring Break! Two of my roommates, another friend and I are going to Vienna, Budapest, Prague and Berlin. I won't have my computer with me, so I won't be able to update my blog until I get back. I will have my cell phone if you need to reach me but it will be quite expensive. I'm really excited to go and expect to be exhausted. Thinking of all of you! Kenna
Antibes, Provence, France k1thomas... planned but they are mostly in the French Riviera. In two weekends I am going on a day trip to Eze and Monaco. There is a day trip to Nice on my birthday, which could be fun! The weekend after that there is a trip to Ventimiglia, Italy which is very close. Later on I will hopefully be visiting Grasse (near Cannes) and other cities in Provence on a weekend trip. These trips were included in the price of my program. Yesterday we went to a huge store ...
Antibes, Provence, France k1thomas... 4 prawns, 100 grams of small annoyyinggg grey shrimp, 150 grams of small delicious sea snails, and 100 grams of large sea snails. It was a carnage of seafood, and it was really fun haha. Also, I got a pastis 51, a classic French aperitif I've always wanted to try...and which I won't try again, but that's ok, good to know! And it was all topped off by an īle flottante for each of us, a "floating island" of ...
Antibes, Provence, France viaggiatore87... wonderful patio area). We were dining with our hosts and two other fanilies: a couple from Paris and a young family from Alsace. After the aperatifs and entrees (appetizers), we went to the outdoor dining area where we were served tuna steaks with ratatouille, spaghetti, and salad. (Yes mom, I ate fish. Can you believe it? It wasn't even fishy. And our host even gave Attila some hot peppers.) After dinner we enjoyed ...
