... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

... utter delight we found a chestnut tree on that mountain. It had dropped a lot of chestnuts on the ground. Rachel and I excitedly gathered pocketfuls of them! That night we had a campfire and we had the very cozy experience of roasting chestnuts over an open fire. Paso Pordoi was the final one. It has 33 hairpin bends on the up side and 27 on the descent to Carnazei.
    There was snow ...

... Steven finished speaking and had about 90 mins to do what we liked. We could have gone back through the house but we all seem to be 'villa-d out" at present, so instead sat and had a coffee from a little cafe there, explored every inch of the gardens and a quick check of the gift shop and down into the public part to run the gauntlet of all the market stalls before catching the ferry to the fishermen's island of Isola dei Pescatori for lunch. Some of us chose ...

On the bus to Lagura Switzerland, free time for coffee and shopping in the markets. Weather is very cold here. We took the bus to the cable car up the mountain called Monte Tamaro. Beautiful views on the way up of the valley below, snow on the alps here. We had a set lunch menu and a walk around at the top, threw ...
