    It was no surprise that we got woken up at 4.45am at a stop in the middle of nowhere which turned out to be Surat Thani; we were super early, this guy turned the lights on and started shouting for everyone to get off, of course everyone was tired and half asleep so we had no clue what was going on; all of our bags were out on the grass in a pile.     ... we decided to get an early start on our trip to Chalong to clear in to Thailand. I fired up the engines and what I suspected was going to happen finally did - the port engine raw water belt blew and the cooling water stopped. I shut the engine down immediately but we were in a bit of a pickle.
