On our way back to the ship, we passed a bakery. I have been craving galataburiko (PLEASE forgive my brutalization of the Greek language) – for years. Loved my mother-in laws, and CRAVE cousin Irene’s. We shall see if this measures up to Irene’s!! ... The quay is a bit shallow so we have to moor about 10 foot away from the side. This then involves a short ride in the tender to the land. Needless to say getting in and out of the tender can be a bit problematic and not as simple as it seems. All to do with issues around centre of gravity I suspect!! However no souls were lost. ... After a couple of hours and chats with orthopods we decided to ditch the Greek health care system and return home as planned.
The UK may have problems but the NHS is fantastic in comparison. The midwife was truly lovely but the rest of the place..........
