(Written on May 22, my birthday.) This is the end of a lovely day. We started the morning with cappuccino and pastries at Cumpanio and then took our friend Pat on a last minute whirl shopping trip to various shops around town before she left for the Leon Airport for her Delta flight home. We really hated to see her go.

The high altitude of San Miguel has certain effects
:
1. The stars (and in particular Venus) and the moon are much brighter here in San Miguel than they are in Ottawa - lack of pollution and the dry desert air might be other factors - moist air absorbs some of the light rays coming through the atmosphere..

2. It cools off a lot at nite time - it can and often does go down to +5 Celsius ...

Gobble, Gobble! It is my first Thanksgiving holiday outside of the country. Poor Greg has been on "night call" all week at Baptist; it is his holiday to work this year. We miss him! He is celebrating with his parents, Andrew, Beth and their kids this afternoon.
