... crossing from Ereikoussa, Greece, to Santa Maria de Leuca, Italy. This is my first light crossing this year. There is roughly 60 miles of Ionian Sea we must cross. The sun is just making its appearance, the sky is blue, and the sea just a little rippley. With my book in hand, my hat on my head, sunscreen applied, I flopped on the double-bunk topside, and began reading ... In about a half hour, Marina had my ...

... the hell out of here as you would not feel comfortable at all staying here. It was all over grown and on route out I noticed a rusty child swing set under the trees, this was the stuff of horror movies! As we stated to re-plan the journey someone appeared at the gate, I ackwardly asked if they were closed, the reply was no, and then I had politely say - we are fine, thank you... And drove off as fast as we could. I googled it to find out it is some sort of ...

... quaint but not to be lived in; a bit like English country cottages.

After Trulli we headed south again to Lecce where we booked into the 8puihotel, a very very modern hotel which is just fantastic. As the review which I looked at when I booked it said, "all hotels should be like this". It's both very modern and just works... We did have to move rooms to get an AC that did work but just down the ...

    ... coffee.

    What I learnt today...
To get a decent cup of coffee in Italy I need to ask for a 'café macchiato'. This is an espresso coffee with a little milk. I've been ordering a café latte which is a lot of milk with a little coffee, which is the most insipid coffee. Even though I now know what to order, I've yet to get a hot cup of coffee - at best they are luke warm. I remember this from previous visits to Italy and things have not improved.
