... the population is leaving but the locals we met we're taking the long view , mostly in good humor and they treated us well. The accommodations were great and surrounded by all the food groups, pasta, olive oil, garlic and vino. We 're on the bus to Lake Cuomo, 5 hour ride, back to the region of Gallarate, where we started, already thinking about that fish I will enjoy for dinner. We've found it takes at a minimum two brains to keep track of all the points . Bobbie ...

On the Norwegian Spirit. It holds approximately 2000 travellers with staff numbers on top of that. The ship is large enough to get lost in but not for too long. There is always a point of reference for you to find your way home or at least to another point that jogs your memory as to where the hell you are. The young and the health conscious use the stairs to navigate the floors. Lee and myself are one of the aforementioned categories. You be the judge. The lifts ...

Like suckers we fall for the first one where the waiter talks to us, and duck in out of the cold. It's rather old-world, perhaps even bordering on shabby, and very quiet when we arrive. However it starts to fill up later on — we have heard that Venetians tend to eat quite late. Anyway ...

It's been a long day...24 hours long to be exact...but we have arrived. It was a very smooth trip all in all. If it wasn't for a short 30 minute delay leaving Dusseldorf, it would have been perfect. Well, better than perfect actually, cause every other flight departed on time and arrived early. We had a nice stop in Heathrow and I had enough time to do a wee bit of shopping at Harrod's. I also had time to pick up my ...

... and we were constantly sweaty. Yuck.

Today we went on the public boat to the main area of Venice, and took in all the shops and all of the crowds that circulate this area. Italian is such a beautiful language, and not that we don't love German, a new language that is so romantic is refreshing. More to come probably tomorrow, we have great internet at this hostel! Ciao ;)
