... here, I was keen to see where we might have headed for....it was LOVELY and had a nudist beach so I could have burnt my entire body rather than the odd patches. Ahh well, next time. Our guide, Jinaro introduced us to a local drink a Zipolite (sp?) which was a bit too nice and strong!, the other people on the trip were lovely, the family of 3 having bought us the Zipolite laced with tequilla. We bought pearls to complete Mia librairian look then headed to the lagoon. The ...
Zipolite, Pacific Coast, Mexico pollakmenace... become even worse. I commented that to Jason holding my arm with the other hand when he saw a black wasp on my shirt. I decided to stop since I didn't know how my arm would react and Jason took over the steering wheel. Now you have to know, that since I know Jason he tells everybody that those black wasps here in Mexico don't sting. I tell you: That's a big fat lie!! I was minding my own business driving in my car and that stupid wasp came into my territory and stung me ...
San Agustinillo, Pacific Coast, Mexico lenitasworld... season, but there were definitely more middle-aged European couples than shrivelled Mick Jagger wannabes. This beach is also famous for hatching turtles and some of the most hardcore surfing waves in the country. Sadly we saw the two combined in the form of hundreds of dead baby turtles sprinkled along the seafront. They were the victims of the vicious undertow ...
Zipolite, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico lisaviro1981... me. Can´t swim there because the bay is pretty polluted. But, I tolk the ride, saw it and was glad to return to Zipolite for more R & R. I have also visited Ventanilla which is an interesting little community just 10 minutes North of Mazunte. They are a sustainable little group of families that are giving tours into the lagoon (swamp really) to see the wildlife in the area. I took it and enjoyed it immensely. We saw crocodiles, iguanas, and an ...
Mazunte, Mexico roamingjodiYesterday, I saw my first baby being born! It was a caesarean section. One difference was that it was transverse instead of longitudinal. (That means they cut up and down instead of horizontally like they normally do in the US). It was pretty cool to see a baby being born. I was kind of standing somewhat far away because I don't have any medical school clinical experience and watching, but they were really good about ...
Pochutla, Mexico shef11308Although I was only planning to stay in Zipolite one night, I ended up staying for four! The place is so nice and mellow, the rooms so cheap, and the ocean so warm... each night I planned to take the bus to San Cristobol at 8pm, and each night, I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to stay. You can walk around the whole town barefoot. The food is amazing. While I was in the shower this morning, a gigantic talon clambered onto the window opening... when I ...
Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico rgeiss78... 8. Asian feast prepared by a visiting Chef at Sueno, accommodation next door. 9. Massage on a massage table on the beach by Hefsi. She was fantastic! 10. Lying in a hammock reading a book. 11. Sun, surf and sand. 12. Lime icy poles from the internet place became a daily ritual. We reluctantly left San Agustinillo after staying for a week. Our next destination after a 12 hour overnight bus trip would be San Cristobal de Las Casas.
San Agustinillo, Mexico deeza... pleased as I looked down at that little paradise, but suddenly, a worrisome thought flashed across my mind: "I´m gonna have trouble leaving this place." And I have! What a fantastic town. There´s something spell binding about Puerto Escondido - to say the pace is "mellow" would be an understatement. Everyone takes a step a time. No one is in a rush. A quick siesta down by the beach seems to be the grandest midday ambition, but falling short of even that modest ...
Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico johnb22... on our last morning. Early start, Sharnal charged me $20 US and we jumped into a local boat with out El Capitan, Tico. Would have been worth the money without catching any fish... literally 100's of tortuga, lots of sea-snakes, a humpback whale, dolphins and then the fish.... We caught a couple of skipjacks, a dorado (magnificent eating fish with striking colours and a torpedo like profile) and 10 nice big yellowfin tuna. Mark lost his first ...
San Agustinillo, Mexico mhaebich... room! It was only a baby (we named it Billy) and let it sleep in the room with us. When we woke the next morning Kerry asked where Billy was only for John to confess that it wasn't Billy he had seen initially but actually a much larger lizard which had probably spent the night with us as he didn't see it leave at all!!!! The next day was bad weather and Stina was now ill so we spent it playing dominoes before setting off on another night´s journey to San Cristobal.
