Day 2

After a good might sleep and breakfast, we set off to explore London. Our first stop was St Paul's Cathedral for worship. What an amazing experience that was. To be surrounded by such a magnificent building and thinking about all the people who had worshipped, married or buried here was great. It is such a beautiful building and so big. The stained glass windows and paint work was so intricate and stunning. A memorable experience

What a lovely London experience we've had! Great, roomy apartment and location (on the cusp of Euston/Camden and very central to all Tube destinations we wanted to get to), super weather, fantastic sights to see and incredibly affable and helpful locals. I have seen some of the most beautiful places ...

Our train should have gotten us to Waterloo at 6:20 but it arrived at 6:30. Still we figured we could make the restaurant in about 10 minutes. Just not to be this evening. Not quite sure if it was rugby or football but the Tube ...

... costing us in excess of maybe 50£. We have been frustrated by the lack of rail staff to help with tickets, the machines that won't take cash, and when we do find some-one, the confusing advice. Anyway....all part of being a tourist. A lovely visit to see Clare, James, Ellie and Abi in their beautiful Surrey home. A warming lunch of sweet potato soup, crusty olive bread, panini for the kids, stilton cheese, Belgian chocolate Yule log all washed down ...
