Friday 23rd September

After the short flight from Ballina we landed in Sydney at 6.30pm. The hotel/lodge where we were staying had advised us that there was an airport taxi shuttle that would take us straight to their door, however due to the fact that there was an NRL (Rugby) semi-final tonight in Sydney the taxi service was …

In the plane to Sydney, even our food was Hong-Kongized : the regular meal had tofu salad as a starter and the vegeterian meal a tofu pudding (?) as a dessert. On this day flight, we'd prepared to stay awake by drinking the strongest coffee ever, but funny enough everyone crashed and we were the only ones with our window open, admiring the …

Christmas Day

For my first Christmas day abroad and away from my family, we went to Taronga Zoo with Mol's parents, it was brilliant. We had the best day's weather during our time in Sydney too!

We started by getting the ferry across the harbour over to Taronga, another pretty smooth ride on the ferry and we also got to see the …

After 13 weeks in Asia we've left the cold Chinese winter for the sun soaked beaches of Australia. We arrived at the airport at 10am local time after our 11 hour flight from Shanghai, nothing too exciting happened on the plane we both watched a film and the tried to catch some shut eye to keep the jet lag away. We took the Sydney shuttle bus from …

Only downside to this place is the shared bathrooms, they are clean and there is one on every floor but it seems everytime I want to use it someone is on there. Pro's are that it is walking distance to the city, if you dont mind a slightly longer walk. It is close to internet cafe's and laundry. Great friendly staff too
