Our day today consisted of a guided tour around the old city of Dusseldorf. We saw the longest pub and saw other buildings of historical significance. There was an amazing bakery, I didn't know there was so many ways with flour & water! We went into a knife shop where Gary picked out a pocket knife after we both decided the price was 32.00 euros - ...

And so last December, it all started. I submitted my application (after checking and re-writing it about 1000 times), made it through the interview and results day. I sent my visa application, bought the tickets and got the necessary vaccinations. And now my suitcases are packed and I've said my good-byes. Back to the boat for our Ritual nap and push off and head ...

... Our tour ended with a walk past many of Amsterdam's "coffee shops" and even at 10.00am you could smell that very distinctive smell! We started cruising in the afternoon and the countryside looks wonderful - very flat, but very productive. Tonight was our welcome dinner - only six courses, but everything was delicious. Tonight we are crossing into Germany, so stay tuned for more from Cologne ...

Off at 8 am up the Motorway to our appointment at 9 am, really trusting this sat nav and took us right to the farm. Meet with 2 dutch growers that seem to run a grower co-op that supplies PepsiCo. The growers were really nice and talked freely about their crop and management. The area is really interesting and was 1.5 m below the water before it was drained in the 1930's. Their crop look good and ...
