Today is the last Tour Day. I head North into the Ozarks with dark foreboding sky over me. Good new is that the weather is supposed to clear up by tomorrow. This last ride started out as trees, trees and more trees and then added mountains with curves, sweepers and hairpins what a great last day!
Trust me to find in the middle of nowhere a Franciscan Monastery and ...
... I was coming home and got stuck behind a travel trailer. Sheesh! While riding around I passed about 10 little towns that the local restaurant had their smoker going to cook the pork should, ribs and chicken. Boy did it ever smell good. Guess what I had for supper? Before supper I decided to go and take a power nap ;-)

Well decided to stick to plan, came down to Hot Springs. I have two days until I pack up and return home. Thunderstorm started then quickly passed over again (think it's following me) while I was chomping down on some good barbequed ribs. Good thing I don't eat lunch on the road.
... that hit Mayflower, AR killing 16 people which is so tragic, I'm glad we stopped chasing when we did. After that we checked out the cute tourist town of Hot Springs, beautiful place with Bath Houses lining the Main Street. We had a nice BBQ lunch and then headed towards Missouri through the ...

We decided to not stay in Little Rock and opted for Hot Springs. There are several huge lakes there. We drove through a National Park but it was full and drove through Hot Springs to another RV park along one of the lakes.
This park is nice, although rather small. It had all of the goodies we ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Lookout Point Lakeside Inn Bed and Breakfast Hot Springs
If you have ever wanted to find the place that felt like a visit to June Cleavers Mothers house (you know the perfect Grandma home) then look no further. Lookout Point can be compared to finally finding the perfect pair of slippers: warm, soft, and comfortable. The Inn offers many accommodations such as a relaxing dip in the lake water that feeds the Eden like landscape, to the game room area the houses tons of board games and puzzles that keep even the easily board entertained. The Inn's location is nestled off of the beaten path yet so close to fabulous restaurants you will feel as if two different worlds (a city, and secrete home) have found a perfect way to live together. The Inn Keepers are like family to me. I was married there and I brought my best friend there on a separate occasion and each time I visit it is like returning home. You will fall in love with the sun again, in love with the kindness of strangers and best of all in love with yourself.
Our anniversary stay at Lookout Point Inn was perfect! We've stayed at other B&B's & this one is at the top of our favorite's list. The room was so nice & fresh, the innkeepers made us feel right at home, and the breakfast was delicious. Our favorite things, (besides the comfortable bed and the beautiful view outside our balcony) was the fresh coffee outside our door at 7:00, the snack bar with all the specialty coffees and a huge jar of M&M's, raisins, and assorted nuts. It's the little, extra touches that make staying here so much fun. We love the fact that the inn is so close to everything, but still feels secluded. The beautiful waterfall drowns out all traffic noise and is very relaxing. It's down a hill so you see nothing but the lake and the flowers surrounding it. We especially enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and butterflies. We would definitely stay again and have already spread the word to all our friends & family. It would be a perfect place for a small wedding too. There's plenty to do in Hot Springs making this a great location for a weekend trip. We visited the beautiful Garvin Gardens while we were there.
My wife and I visited over the 4th of July and loved this B&B. One great thing about this B&B is that the owners were able to build it from scratch. It's designed like a small hotel rather than trying to make something out of a house. It is built in a craftsman style with 10 rooms - each has a bath. Most have baclonies over looking the lake. The breakfasts were unique and wonderful with uncommon dishes. All very good. The hosts were very nice and accomodating to any needs we had. The best B&B we've ever stayed in.
Highly Recommend It
Beautiful Bed and Breakfast overlooking the lake. Landscaped to perfection. Really nice people in a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Delicious breakfast. Ray and Kristie have covered every detail and will make your stay a great one.
Much Needed Relaxation
From the time we walked in we felt relaxed and welcome. In traveling with a dog it is not esy to find nice places to stay. We most often run into a smelly and rundown place that over charges for pets. The Inn was great with our dog and we were not stuck way back in a corner that no one sees. They were very accommodating and happy to have him in the room. We were never worried if the dog would get out or be a problem.
We were able to relax and take the canoe out on the quite lake just outside the door. All and all a great time and we know that we will be back.
Peace and Relaxation
We had a four-day weekend at the Lookout Point Lakeside Inn and it was wonderful. The innkeepers are so friendly and helpful that we ended up feeling like we'd made lifelong friends! The inn itself could not be more beautiful. The grounds are incredible... very well-kept and beautiful blooms everywhere you look, even in the hottest part of the summer. The food served at breakfast was outstanding, always beautiful to look at as well as delicious.
We were looking for a place to relax, to NOT be busy, to just sit back and enjoy each other and time away. We found it! The bed was so incredibly comfortable I wanted to buy it! The hammock by the lake was the perfect place to enjoy the breeze and the view. I can't wait to go back!
My husband and I recently returned from a visit to Arkansas and were fortunate to have booked a few nights at this wonderful Inn! The attention to detail of the owners-Kristy and Ray- is amazing. Each room has a theme and the furniture, accesories, bedding etc all work together in true harmony. The breakfasts are delicious and served in a dining room overlooking the lake. The highlight had to be the beautiful gardens, fountains, birds, lake, and even a swing! Once you arrrive you really do not want to leave! The common rooms are so confortable, you feel right at home. This would be a wonderful place to go with that someone special , with a group of friends and/or with your family. I guess you have figured out by now that we were very pleased with our stay and would love to return for a longer visit. Enjoy!
The Perfect Place
Your search is over. This is the perfect place to stay in Hot Springs. If you want beauty, peace and tranquility, this is it. Our room had a jacuzzi, fireplace, tv and a view of the lake from your bed where you can watch the geese land. Do not miss breakfast. Each day is something different and always fabulous! It is served in the dining room overlooking the lake and gardens. Outside the dining room door is a beautiful pond and fountain. In the afternoon, home made brownies or cookies and wine or tea is served on the table in the lobby. We have decided this will be our home away from home!!
My family- nine of us total spent four days at the Lookout Point Inn in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I have traveled to many cities and resorts around the world. The Lookout Point Inn is hard to beat.
My husband and I celebrated our five year anniversary at the Inn. We had never been to Hot Springs before, but living in Dallas, it made for an easy weekend trip. After much research on the web to find the perfect place for our anniversary, I came across the Lookoutpointinn. This place will not disappoint. The grounds are simply beautiful and the atmosphere breathes relaxation. The Inn has ten lovely rooms which can be seen on their website. We stayed in the Romance Room on the second floor which had a private deck overlooking Lake Hamilton, and had a gorgeous King sleigh bed with the finest linens. The room had a large bathroom with whirlpool bath, and shower. This room was one their largest and had a sitting area in it as well. There was also a gas fireplace to add to the atmosphere. I had a chance to look a few of the other rooms as people were checking out, and they are all lovely. Breakfast each morning was wonderful, and you could even choose to dine on the patio looking at the gardens, and listening to the stream/waterfall. The Innkeepers were on vacation while we were there, but the Inn-sitters were very helpful in planning our activities. After looking around Hot Springs over the weekend, without a doubt, this is the finest place available. This is not your Grandma's house style B&B-- it is modern, and first-class all the way. The King rooms are $230, but for a special occasion, very well worth it. Their smallest Queen rooms were $150. If you plan on renting a boat and you will be there on a weekend, be sure to make a reservation. We were disappointed to learn this the hard way. This place has just appeared in Southern Living August edition, so reservations are going to be hard to come by. Plan ahead-- you won't be sorry. I thought about not even writing a rec in fear of making it harder for me to get a reservation in the future, but there wasn't a review on advisor when I needed it! Glad I took the chance on this place. This is truly the gem of Hot Springs!
