    I woke up to a banging. It was still dark outside. Our alarm hadn't gone off. 0440am. On holiday. It's not normal to get up this early but we are making a habit of it in the Philippines.     Next, tricycle to the elementary public school. They had a massive vegetable garden for which they had won awards. Ravi managed to nut a massive courgette thing on walking through. The pupils and staff were extremely friendly, even though Uncle Bob was not part of the school. One of the classes sung, 'Plaridel March', composed by Uncle Bob in 2000.     ... there were about as poor as you could get, homes made on rough ground from banana crates and if they were lucky, polythene. A few sheets on the floor and hey presto, a home, shelter from the sun and something to sleep on. For toilets Rodel told me that they use newspaper to collect the goods and then dispose of it in bins. People bathe in the streets with buckets of water.     All too soon we were heading back to our hotel back in San Fernando, time was running out for this visit, my wedding visit, and I also had to get an extension to my visitors visa which was only valid for 21 days. We had to travel to Angeles for this, but our journey did not take us through the infamous bars areas. Shame!
