By now we are practically professionals at international train travel…arriving at the Brussels station with just enough time to grab a cappuccino, an apple and a croissant we boarded our train to Paris! Arriving in Paris we made our way down to the rental car counter and after some brief negotiating and a slight price drop we secured a car for our 2 week driving adventure that we have sort of mapped out. Getting the car was a breeze, ...

... staying in 'lodges'. I say lodges, but really they are wooden shacks build around caravans - quite unusual! There is a pool here and a small playground. I checked trip advisor for a pizzeria and we headed into the town. It's lovely & quite traditional. We walked around a bit getting bread for the morning and admiring the cheese & salami shops. We stopped at a bar for a quick coffee. It was showing the France Germany game. ...

There's no way it will be fitting me for the duration of this holiday unless I get some of those nancy gantz pants thingos!! After leaving Turin we drove to a palazzo called Venaria Reale - which was ...

From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.

Slight change of plans - we left Roma at 2pm driving out easily - thank you Sarina (Tomtom) and headed for Asti - Guido navigated the autostrada like a champ and no wrong turns thru the crazy Genoa labyrinth of tunnels. Got in at about 9pm and headed out for some sparkles and dinner.
Gianni and Luca looked after Gran and Papa Tuesday morning visiting the local market and exploring the medieval centre of beautiful Asti. Guido and I headed off to attend a family funeral nearby. Sad ...
