    Having sailed through the night, we sailed into the Port of Mytilene (Mitilini), Nisos Lesbos, a part of Greece, at around 7:30am. Due to the limited depth of the port and the size of our ship, we had to anchor outside of the harbour. To alight and go into the City of Mytilene, we had to utilise the safety boats to make our way to land. This is called the "Tendering Process" to the coast.

    ... were secretly pleased we had skipped dinner the night before. spent the day relaxing in the shade, catching up on our blog, and wandering the back streets of Ayvalik. Dinner at the neighbouring restaurant was delightful, fish of course (being a friday), and a selection of meze (traditional turkish dishes). Enjoyed meeting and talking with the local fishermen, tried a sample of fresh cooked mussels, Ken not so keen on the spicy addition to the mussels but Tim and I loved it.
