This was my 2nd visit to the small town/village, situated just into Holland from Belgium. In fact the majority of the 25 minute bus journey was spent exiting Bruges and passing Belgian villages and farms, I believe the beautiful Sluis was the first real landmark after crossing the border. The journey itself was very scenic (well worth the 3Euro! ) - complete with rabbits and farm fauna, passing long canals, and the stereotypical pancake-flat fields ...

... We ran into a few issues and decided to both get off in Steinach (where Kristi usually changes trains to go to her base). We went into the little guesthouse and had drinks and some amazing battered/fried apple things! We ended up causing Kristi to miss her train that would have got her back in time for curfew because they usually run ever hour, but after a certain time it changes to every 2 hours- which we failed to note. But all was well, and we made it home safe ...

Renee: Why Brugge? What is Brugge or "Bruges" in French and English? Well, for lack of a better explanation, I thought Belgium was an underestimated country, and people have said to visit places like Brugge in the north. Its true, it is quaint, with some very charming medievel architecture and canals running throughout the city.
