Chalet Time - Deeep clean!
... surface it's a lovely chalet but on closer inspection there are sooo many things broken & faulty. Lots of stains & marks all over the walls and carpets, it really does look quite shabby and not in good condition at all. We have a broken ceramic hob & an oven that on has 1 knob when we need 3. Going to take ALOT of work to make look good. Did an inventory for absolutely anything removeable, and Etat Des Lieux (conditions report) and a risk ...
Training Week
... never seen snow like it! Had to clamber over waist height snow to get out of the chalet this morning! We had an early start as we had to go to a de-briefing of our meal so had an earlier breakfast and had to be at the hall for 8.40. However, it had snowed so much over night that the Narnia path had now been completed covered in waist high snow.. so there was only one thing for it.. I carved the path to lead us to training!! After lunch ...

The toughest bike ride of my life
... later, we were on the bikes again starting our ascent towards Galibier. This was the best part of the ride in terms of the scenery and probably one of the most scenic of all the rides we did that week. It was a fairly gradual ascent for about 10 km or so and then there was a switchback that kicked you up to about a 12% grade for nearly a kilometer. That was really tough and both Rod and I commented on how nasty it was when we got to the top. When we got ...
