... a hill, which overlooks the whole town. The chairlift turned out to be a bit scary, as it was swinging in the wind over the highway and Chris kept commenting on how it needed a bit more maintenance - as I said before, ignorance is bliss! Day 2 in Punta del Este
... 8220;downtown” La Barra, and then turned off the main road to explore some of the side streets. Most are paved, but some are just hard pack and gravel. But all of them have one beautiful house after another. Many are for sale. We rode up and down the streets, just looking at the variety of styles and sizes.

The ferry cost’s $100USD and takes 1 hour direct from BA to Colonia, Uruguay. After that we had a 4 hour bus trip to get us to Punta del Este which is like the Gold Coast. High rise buildings, tanned beautiful bodies and great beaches. We stayed at a cool hostel called F&F hostel with a cool outdoor area with a bar and pool. Well, today was a late start. I ordered breakfast for 10AM but went downstairs at about 10:30 AM as I didn't really know if it was coming to my room or if I had to let them know I was ready for it. I met a woman in the lobby. It turns out she is staying at the hotel sola (alone) as well. Her name is Claudia and she is a doctor from BA and speaks English very well.
