The past two days have been extremely hot. So we decided to take it easy and slow down so that we don't burn out. In the past two days the main activities included doing laundry, walking through museum island, and seeing Sachsenhausen (concentration camp).
According to our hostess, Berlin generally gets super hot for a week before getting chilly again. So i guess we came at a good time!.

This issues seems, the issues of sections of the wall remaining up has divided many Germans, many that are older want to have a visual reminder of the time that Berlin and Germany was divided and those that are wanting Germany to be a bigger economic power within the EU don’t want any reminders. To start we headed around Museum island though couldn't really afford to go in them. But they're incredible buildings. They're also right next to the Berlin cathedral which is magnificent. Afterwards we headed down Unter Den Linden, a famous boulevard which used to link the Brandenburg Tor to the Prussian Palace. At the end, obviously we got to the Brandenburg gate. ... of the trip—Spree Park.
Spree Park is an abandoned theme park a little outside of the touristy sector in Berlin (over an hour with the train and walking). It was once the pride and joy of the GDR, then was a bustling theme park, until it was shut down for good in 2002. ... was had in what seemed to be a German family dining room with home made meals being a very authentic experience.
Everyone dived into their beds on return to the hostel at 9.30 pm, despite the sun still out and nightlife pumping with music from the Beer Garden travelling through our windows.
Overall, we may be all tired, but we’re all so excited for the tour ahead and love that we are in Berlin- a city many have never been ...
