    Not for families

Quite an unsuitable place for a family. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pullout couch is essentially a sheet on top of springs that were saggy and painful to sleep on. It is located right beside a strip-club in Sydney's King's Cross area.

Got up at 6.15am to have breakfast and get a taxi to the airport for our flight at 9.20am. For once I actually thought the hot food on the plane smelt and tasted good! (Was a fresh scrambled egg sandwich). Arrived in Sydney on time at 12.20. Got one train to Central station then found out that the second train we needed to get was having some …

We were so excited to get here! The views of the city were beautiful as we circled for our landing, and when we stepped out the warmth of the sun was so welcome. We were driven by a crazy shuttle to our hotel in Potts Point, in Kings Cross (which is not at all as Harry Potter-ish as it sounds …

... One point Kelly Slater was perpendicular to his board and managed to stay on!! Made me keener than ever to improve my surfing skills. Hit the road around 1 to drive back to Perth, about a 3 hour drive. Stopped on the way for lunch-breakfast combo, before arriving in Perth for about 6 dropped bags off at the One World Backpackers. Then have the car a good clean. Seemed to accumulate a large amount of sand in the foot ...

... day and a gorgeous beach. We played in the waves and watched some surfers (kids go after school, love it) and even saw some little dudes out there (like less than 10 years old). I loved life...warm ocean, sun (finally!!) and not tooooooo hot out! We had just missed the Australian Surf Open (damn!) but there was a cool vibe there and lots of surf shops, not that I bought anything! My bag is starting to get very big and I left a plastic bag full of stuff at ...
