      Not for families

Quite an unsuitable place for a family. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pullout couch is essentially a sheet on top of springs that were saggy and painful to sleep on. It is located right beside a strip-club in Sydney's King's Cross area.

Got up at 6.15am to have breakfast and get a taxi to the airport for our flight at 9.20am. For once I actually thought the hot food on the plane smelt and tasted good! (Was a fresh scrambled egg sandwich). Arrived in Sydney on time at 12.20. Got one train to Central station then found out that the second train we needed to get was having some …

We were so excited to get here! The views of the city were beautiful as we circled for our landing, and when we stepped out the warmth of the sun was so welcome. We were driven by a crazy shuttle to our hotel in Potts Point, in Kings Cross (which is not at all as Harry Potter-ish as it sounds …

      ... R Us.

The scooters we got are serviceable and immediately served us well. Despite the fact that we were in the middle of a commercial shopping district with crazy traffic and intersections, the girls were determined to scooter home. It would have been a long way home even as the crow flies, but our navigation fairy deserted us and we ended up tacking on extra distance. If the girls noticed, they didn’t say anything – they were too ...

... and back again, stopping at the Opera House again, this time for a drink and something to eat. Haley and John had kindly given us some Australian Dollars for our wedding and told us to have a drink at the Opera Bar, so we did. We sat outside, me melting, enjoying a cold drink, looking up at the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and city skyline behind us. It feels like you're on a set, this is a view that you normally only see on TV. But it also feels familiar, ...

On Thursday the 24/9/14 we drove to Sydney and stayed at our uncle's house. The next day we went to Rose Bay to stay with mums friends Sue and Nora. That afternoon we went down to Bondi beach and had my dream come true - " my dream was to meet the Bondi lifeguards." The next morning Sue, Nora and I got up at 5.30am and went down to Bondi again to try meet another ...
