Back to Aussie land!

A travel blog entry by lrgibbs on Mar 15, 2014

Got up at 6.15am to have breakfast and get a taxi to the airport for our flight at 9.20am. For once I actually thought the hot food on the plane smelt and tasted good! (Was a fresh scrambled egg sandwich). Arrived in Sydney on time at 12.20. Got one train to Central station then found out that the second train we needed to get was having some …

We were so excited to get here! The views of the city were beautiful as we circled for our landing, and when we stepped out the warmth of the sun was so welcome. We were driven by a crazy shuttle to our hotel in Potts Point, in Kings Cross (which is not at all as Harry Potter-ish as it sounds …

... on the plane we realised the flight was not full , we basically had a row each ! We slept most the flight waking up for food! Arriving into Sydney, coming into land we could see the Opera house and the bridge . As everything is automated coming through passport control i didn't get a stamp :( Arriving at the hostel we dumped our bags and went off to see the harbour , Opera house and bridge , in the evening we visited the Aquarium. Then an early night ! Love Jared and Melissa ...

Moving Day!

We moved into the new pad today, and we're thrilled with it! We're missing a sofa at the moment as the landlords are replacing it, but otherwise we've got everything we could want. He tried to talk to me as well but I just thought he was annoying and kind of a jerk. After I've told him off on my drunken state, I bumped into him again one time and he was actually nice and wasn't trying to be ...

Quite an unsuitable place for a family. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pullout couch is essentially a sheet on top of springs that were saggy and painful to sleep on. It is located right beside a strip-club in Sydney's King's Cross area.
