... as we got closer to Sanilhac (pronounced San-ac). We did a few laps around a few round-abouts trying to work out where we were meant to turn; the sign posts were a bit skewed so it wasn't too obvious. ... the bulls would have been fought. We walked up the big hill which has a tower on top, it is one of the highest places in the area so you could see around the whole city and surrounding area. ... it was the weekend and very soon after New Year's Day.

I missed out on seeing the Gardens and the Castle as I arrived late and they'd already done it.

From here we also did a half-day trip to Arles - see next entry.
There are other smaller villages around to do day trips to/from, such as Avignon.
Marseilles and Montpelier are also 2-3 hours away by train.
