Apologies to the handful of people following, this blogger seems to have gone to sleep at his keyboard this week. ... watching the French enjoy their summer holidays.
Our tour guide Vincent led us to the harbour and to get some Basque Macarons which are completely different from the coloured ones but delicious. The harbour square area was a delight with the water clean and grey mullet swimming, artistes painting and selling their works. The town is beautiful.
Back to the car and off to Spain and San Sebastian which we had heard so much about.

We had a quiet week in Monflanquin, then drove to Biarritz to meet Irfhan's cousin, Nilufer, and her husband Stephan and their two sons, Adam and Benjamin, who drove down from London to meet us. As soon as we saw the ocean I was sold. Although the countryside in the Aquitaine region of France is absolutely beautiful, I realized how much I missed the ocean when we arrived in Biarritz.

Biarritz boundFrom Burgos we have planned to head to the coastal city of Biarritz before heading to spend time with my cousins in Bordeaux. Actually we had wanted to stay about 20 minutes south at San Sebastien in Spain but with their holiday, most affordable/recommended places we checked were unavailable when we tried to reserve.
