After that had finished, I had to take my bike back to Udell. I have loved having that because it was very quick to go back to our accommodation during the day to charge up devices etc and I had my lovely ride on Friday. Til came and picked me up, and we managed to fit the bags in the car again. It was great having a car available, but it was pretty tiny.

... place was the Anne Frank Huis. Very touching to read her story and be in the very house where her family had to hide. It's so saddening to know she had to live through that horrible time and experience the world like that at such a young age.
We spent the last of our day relaxing by the canals and had a sushi feast for dinner before heading back to the UK. Overall a beautiful city that I'd love to visit again when the tulips are in full bloom!!!

Lots of push bikes around, even with the light rain. Didn't realise they have their own push bike lane on the road which I was walking down thinking it was the edge of the road and ended up getting belled at by some bike riders for walking in their lane. You have to watch out here for cars and push bikes when you cross the road!
Day tour of Amsterdam ...
Having slept in the tiny bed we asked if there were any rooms with king beds and got lucky with a lovely quiet room. All the dutch people we met our whole trip were lovely - friendly, helpful and accommodating and of course all spoke perfect english. A bit different to berlin!

Taking advantage of a break in the rain we wandered back over to Anne Frank Huis hoping the line up would be smaller in the evening, and luckily it was so after about 25 minutes we were able to enter. The Anne Frank Huis was another very moving experience and had inspired me to read the book. Amy has read the book and she now has greater appreciation of the conditions Anne and her family ...
