... The name supposedly comes from Einbeck, the originators of this beer. The 'beck' evolved in pronunciation to 'bock,' which also gave the beer an association to billy goats (=bock in German). Thus, it's common to see goats on labels for bock beer. For a more detailed history, click here.

... we didn't win anything. Our dinner in the specialty Portobello Restaurant followed, so we changed quickly for our 6 course meal. We ate with Rob and Ann from southern England, who had run a nursery, with a specialty in cacti, now largely run by one of their sons. We enjoyed our dinners and the conversation.
