    ... standards, Niko has the best in Albania, and easily the best value camping ground we have stayed at in Europe.

    Our neighbour for a couple of days was Pierre, from guess where. At 67, Pierre was relatively new to Europe’s 4x4 fraternity, but he was enjoying touring through places as diverse as Iceland and Albania, etc.

    ... boat for a short half hour trip out on the lake. It made it a lot easier to go for a dip and I jumped in hoping it would be nice. The lady who hired us the boat said the temperature was 15 degrees Celsius, But after jumping in I think she meant Fahrenheit as it was so cold I thought I was rolling in snow. Luckily the sun was shining and it was an amazing day so when I got out there was plenty of time to warm up. We spent the rest of the day lazing about in the hotel and ...

    The photos speak for themselves about today. We could not believe when we woke up what a glorious morning we had. Breakfast at the guest house was simple buy delicious, bread rolls, cold meat, cheese, good coffee. There were a number of Japanese and Chinese staying at the gust house, I think we were the only European. Going to the lake we caught the bus, as we had the Berchtesgaden card it was free. This meant walking to the train station which was only 550 ...

    ... since we got up this morning and raining at every place we have passed through!! From Freilssang to Berchestgaden the journey was really interesting, the train wound its way through the very narrow valley, with the mountains often snow tipped through the mist were in touching reach. It is truely beautiful, the wooded forest, with the dark fur trees reaching down, nearly touching the train, birch trees ...
