When I was making my summer plans over the spring months, I of course wanted to include some relaxing beach time. I made plans to go with a friend to Mykonos in early July and figured that would suffice (in addition to weekly trips to Santa Severa beach outside Rome). Something that I was also planned for the summer was to visit in old teaching buddy who now lives in Zurich. Was going to do that a few days after Madrid.

Tomorrrow marks a return to normality and those things that accompany it - anaemic skin tones and early starts. Therefore we're making the best of the final day in our sicilian idle, like a mafia don in hiding, by rising leisurely late, topping up our tans and scofing pizza. Molto Bene!

The caves were supposedly originally quarries and later used as prisons but they are also very beautifully finished and seems to me far too finished to be simple quarries. We also went into the very exotic Domo only to find a wedding in process, not a bad place to get married.

... our car is high, with the top box, and would not fit into the underground car park, there really was no easy place to park in the very crowded town. We ended up parking in a resident's parking zone and were very glad to see the car not towed away when we came back from lunch.
Now we are chilling by the pool... this is going to be a quiet week.....

We stayed in Mizzano and I had the most beautiful antipasto seafood platter. Small italian family owned restaurant translated to the housewife.
