... nothing more of it. We cruised into Venice for a walking tour with a local Venetian lady named Christina who showed us through the food markets, nice and early, on a Saturday morning and then took us through some of the back streets to see where Marco Polo had once lived with his family! Then an hour of free time before we headed into Lido, where a major proportion of venetians live for our farewell lunch. This was held in a beautiful "fancy" restaurant covered in ...

We spent a couple of hours touring around St. Marks Square and area before our legs just gave out. BTW...the temperature here is perfect! We've now been on the go for more than 24 hours so it was time to return to the ship for some well deserved horizontal z's...not the vertical ones you get on the airplane. ...

... different to how we both had imagined. It was far more beautiful. Our hotel is just off San Marco Square. The square its quite a happening place. Restaurants, pigeons landing on people, the Basilica, many gelato stores, it's all here! After settling into our hotel we had dinner at a little overpriced restaurant. On our way back to the hotel we stopped at the gelato store on the corner and got some dessert. I've missed Italian ...
