My day started early....4:15 am to be precise. I heard a child screaming and woke with a start and for a second wondered where I was and who was crying! Those mother/Nanna instincts kicking in. The family over the back again! Then it was the roosters turn and the children didn't go back to sleep and then the call to prayer. ... litres of water in a plastic container hung overhead. There is a shower rose attached to it. And it works. I'm sharing with Katherine from Perth and we both managed to have a (quick) shower each and I even managed to wash my hair. And it all feels quite luxurious. Amazing! ... on the head as a mark of respect - but when prompted to do this to me they often aren't happy as they are scared of my white face! Hands are pulled away and skirts are hidden behind much to everyone's amusement! The 18 month old son of Mama Vicki took two weeks before he accepted me as a friend!

The seafood on Zanzibar is fantastic. For 4.00 I can get a meal with a choice of jumbo prawns, yellow fin tuna, jack fish, king fish, Dorado, calamari etc. ...

... cooled off with the ocean breeze. Did a little more looking around at some shops and then relaxed at the hotel until 8 when James took us back to the airport. What a HOT airport, and our flight was delayed by 1 and 1/2 hours. Finally they let us in to the area that has the big air conditioners in at. We relaxed and cooled off for the long journey home. Goodbye Africa!!!

... drinks while watching the sunset. It was the perfect temperature too, not too hot and not too cold.

The food came out and it all looked delicious, I had the fish kebabs and a prawn and avo salad, both were amazing. Everyone was happy with their choices and as everyone was in such a good mood we called for the desert menu. The deserts weren't quite up to scratch compared to the main meals but nothing could dampen ...
