... tried to help, after he got his hands a tad opily he left for the toilet being no help at all. Bless him! Finally got it sorted and it didn,t take us too long to find a nice wood for the night. We risked our first fire of the trip, sat down to an odd rissoto made of rice and a cuppa soup thing helped down with a few tinnies as we gazed into the fire. Rain followed us to bed.
... we did the self guided tour of the abbey, there are some 30 stops. The tour takes you around the ruins of the original Abbey from the 13th century (I believe), through some new buildings telling the story of old and new, through a brewing museum of sorts, and under the new abbey to where old artifacts are displayed. ... which is pretty impressive, which this was not. Stopped in Durbuy for lunch, which is apparently the smallest town in the world, how they know that is beyond me, anyone enlighten us?? It was a lovey little place though.
By then we had decided this would be our last night in Belgium, so headed to Han-Sur-Lesse. A town famous for caves but we didn't visit them, just had a quiet night and a wander round a local market. Off to Luxembourg tomorrow!
Our whistle stop tour of GB is over and we are back on the road, up to date on all our insurances, contact lenses, passports and MOTs. It's amazing how quickly the mind can forget life in GB. We were astounded by the volume of traffic from the moment we left the Chunnel. Surely Britain has not managed to increase population by a couple of billion since we left?
