... Jane. Unfortunately, where I was, across the river, the beach and into the waves, the sun was still shining, where Jane was, it quickly dropped below the tree line and she was soon overshadowed. Oh well, still a great day all round.

I am sure that by now you've no doubt gathered that swimming off the beach in these more temporate regions is no longer restricted by stingers, crocs or other nasty marine life.

... It was a nice hostel with no bar but with good facilities, including a pool and a large communal kitchen. With no bar, you were able to have your own drinks which was quite useful as there was a supermarket and off licence opposite! We got dinner of Spaghetti and Meatballs along with some wine (we went back for more when we ran out!) and got ourselves comfy in the hostel. ... an early walk to the top of Red Rock Headland and discovered that it signifies "Blood Rock" as an Aboriginal tribe had been cornered on the peninsula and forced to jump to their death to the rocky surf below...charming!
