... socialising and catching up with each other. The people we have spoken to are really friendly and have a good chat to you. The elderly ladies in the street usually give you a big smile and say 'Kalimera'.

We took the little red car and headed off South to look at some temple ruins and some of the beaches. Demeter's Temple ruins were from 500BC with an amazing backdrop of mountains.

What bliss.

Beyond the town lies greater Naxos: tiny villages ...

I had phoned Antonios at Liana`s a couple of days ago and said good morning and he asked if I was the famous paparazzi, referring to when I sent a picture to him of his Mum and Dad when we saw them on Sifnos.
He advised that he was booked up from the 8th so, we will have to look elsewhere. Rather surprised booked up this early but, it ...

... and then started coming down again, which was probably fairly accurate being only about 35 mins long. I didnt realise how close together all the islands are - it would be really easy to just island hop for a couple of weeks. Even our ferry to Santorini in a few days only takes 2 hours.

Naxos airport is TINY - you land, get off straight onto the tarmac and then walk over to a small room where the baggage belt is but instead ...
