Goat tracks and Fortresses!

A travel blog entry by footloose_llr

... a wander about and then retired for the evening .....tomorrow would be another day!

(L) So ends my 2 nights of having my own room, we did originally plan to all share a room but as I may or may not have already explained the rooms have been so cheap and we decided to get 2 rooms and take it in turns to have some time alone. I would definitely recommend if coming at this time of year to not book ahead, providing you get into a town at a reasonable hour there should be no ...

Dhiros cave, and drive to tip - heading home now

A travel blog entry by saradavid

... tower houses up on hill we were passing. Checked out a cemetery up near the tower houses - was full of little houses that had the crypts inside.

Drive down to the tip was just breathtaking scenery, rugged mountains, plungig down into the sea below. Bit sad at the end as this represented the further point on the trip - it's all homeward bound now.

Drove back up to Gythio, and spent the night in a restaurant carpark, right on the water ...

Swimming in the Ionian Sea at last!

Magic Times 50

... and it was all very flustering and disarming as flustering and disarming things go and so, not just regardless of all of the aforementioned, but, likely in large part because it, the next few days were, through my happy, sleepy haze, totally, again, magical. Diving off the rocky portello into the ocean for sunrise and a special midnight swim. Walking up to the old city at the top of the rock and having the chance to tour the inside of Monemvasia’s Agia ...

A Stroll in Breathtaking town of GYTHIO

A travel blog entry by greekcypriot

From Athens is approximately 3 hours.

If you are in Sparta (20 minute drive from
here) it is advisable to visit Mystras first and then come here to spend the
entire afternoon…swim first and then go for some fish and ouzo.

Don’t miss visiting the Caves of Diros which is
another interesting place to visit ….only a 30 minute drive from here as well.
