I set my alarm for 8.30am to catch my flight at 11.25 for Athens, Monique was working from home today so she gave me a ride to the airport. It was a shame we didn't have more time together, it was only really one day, but nice to see her briefly. My flight to Athens was just over 3 hours. Yet I had a 4 hour layover in Athens to get to Thira ( Santorini). Not long enough ...

On the other side of the park and across a road was the sea. We look at it from about fifty metres above the water for sand or a beach. I had already given up on hoping for any surf. Today we're putting our clothes in for washing at the Penguin laundromat, we leave tomorrow back to Athens for 2 days. Xoxo A & ...

... a large crater with small islands which I guess were remnants of the mainland sticking up out of the sea. Many hotels overlook the Caldera but we weren't worried that ours didn't as the view across the Aegean is just as nice and much quieter than the hustle and bustle of Oia.
Yesterday morning we met a couple of kiwis and, guess what, they were from Nelson. We had breakfast with them and spent two hours chatting. We exchanged emails, ...

... with donkeys asking if we want a ride down but they all look worn out and it's not even peak season yet, plus if you wanted a ride it would be back up. We climbed onboard our boat, looking over the edge the water was so clear and blue we could see the bottom and all the fishes. We got talking to 3 American girls who were lovely, then about 40 Canadian school kids all got onboard! They were on a history trip, pretty lucky since we didn't hear anything educational come ...
