... in quite the right spot, so you can't get the 'perfect' photo. I'm glad that I went to see the sunset in Oia, because I think I would have been kicking myself if I didn't, but I think it's actually nocer on other parts of the island, as I discovered today. Today was basically a repeat of yesterday, minus the wasted hour waiting for the bus (and I had a delicious cheese and ham pastery instead of the nutella croissant). Late afternoon ...

... close to the end of the ride that were actually not our seats...we were supposed to be another floor up, but I think the staff people didn't want Louise going up anymore stairs!), but nobody booted us out, so all's well that ends well. There was annoying Canadian couple sitting next to me. I'm not sure why, but the lady kept poking the guy in the stomach, telling him he was fat. I spotted a giant sea turtle swimming in the water and the crew were all excited as apparently "she" is the only turtle living anywhere near the coast here. She was huge! Jenny was quick to jump overboard at Red Beach and this time I joined her while Billy napped in a shady spot on the bow. The water was crisp ...

... takes you the mile or more to the old town centre. Horse and carriage rides await you at the bus stop but we chose to walk across the road, have a coffee and look at the map to see what we could do or where we could go. The good looking beaches were on the other side of the island and at €100 round trip, that might be an expensive swim or lunch. We wander through the narrow streets that take pedestrians and motor scooters. They are lined with tourist ...

... we could see that Santorini was just as picturesque as we had seen in pictures. White buildings built into the hills, close together, it's a great sight. The hotel is so nice, all white and our room is the typical white Greek building. We fell in love with it immediately. The hotel's restaurant not only has risotto and spaghetti to die for, but overlooks the ocean ...
