Thu 9th: Passed over the Greek/Albanian border to the 'resort' town of Sarande through pretty rough roads and mountain pass. After a slow start at the hotel, we went out to explore – the beach and the tourist port and town. We were amazed at how quiet our hotel and many of the others ...

... yet so different nowadays. Arriving after dark (breaking
rule number one in campervanning as it means no idea were you actually are) we
bypassed a few suspect looking campgrounds to arrive at campground in Morinj,
outside of Kotor. Luckily we had struck a winner with a lovely owner, cheap
rates and great facilities. We were quickly guided to our riverside pitch,
complete with alfresco dining area.

Wild camping in Montenegro is apparently allowed but we really struggled to find anywhere that would work and when we did we got told to leave. Camp grounds in Montenegro were not too bad but nothing special either, fortunately cheaper than Croatia. Albania on the other hand was so cheap ...

Kassiopi is 30kms north from Corfu town (50kms total from Agios Ioannis Peristeron) with the last 20kms full of twists, turns, climbs, narrow passes, and several gear changes in our little BMW rental. Driving on the right hand side in a left handed drive over these roads never felt so exhilarating!
