... role but became more like a cross between an inner cabinet and the KGB (there was a slot in their room where anonymous treason accusations could be left to be investigated by the group of ten - bet that was a really fair judicial system!!) plus special rooms for the three groups of 40 senators who performed a variety of different roles. The prison was on several floors, with tiny doors, stone beds, no windows, except in the passageway that went along the bridge of ...

We then met the British girls for dinner at what we all though seemed like a good restaurant as it didn't have a seating fee and the meals seemed well priced but we were fairly certain that the Chief wasn't Italian and possibly Asian as the meals were tiny and honestly we cook better tortellini (out of the packet) and risotto! We finally boarded a little connector plane (so tiny) and headed to JFK. We landed and the plane was so small they unloaded us on the tarmac and we walked down a covered walkway into the terminal. Then we had to switch terminals on a shuttle bus and finally got there with time to spare. *Side note - I would avoid JFK if you are flying on a tiny connector plane. Do Atlanta or Miami.

It was starting to get dark so the lights were coming on in the buildings. It gave us a view of the historic ceilings and sculptures in some of the buildings as we looked in through the windows. It was quite a romantic experience.

As evening approached, we started to see children dressed up for Halloween running into ...

... Had with us six large suitcases and several bags and backpacks. Venice is very confusing no street signs. As we got to the hotel, which is right on a canal, and thee was a water taxi stop immediately in front. Not sure that adventure was worth $100 savings after being awake 24 hours. For dinner we walked back to the Grand Canal and ate outdoors. Of course Robert had buttered ...
