    ... but no answer.  kevin just mixed together the water and the sour cherry juice (our best guess) and drank them.  who knows. we also did check out the "new town".  banks, pide (sorta turkish pizza) restaurants, grocery store, clothing stores, a market with fresh early strawberries and bedding plants, endless fresh bread stores that smelled like heaven, and of course, some dude fixing a small engine of some sort.  and the usual hole-in-the-wall tea houses that seem to be ...

    ... American phones on the table (we were sick of listening to turkish news), we were laughing loudly, singing along to our music; we invited our servers to sit with us and have a drink, and we tried to wave over everyone else at the bar to join us.     ... to request an X Ray of the injured elbow. Our fellow guest at the pension, who is a doctor, advised us to make absolutely sure that the infection was not being caused by bone fissures, no matter how small.

    *We stay in Safranbolu until the mid afternoon injection time. It is worrying that it is Day 2 of antibiotics and the arm is still swollen.

    ... and now the Black Sea !! Feeling accomplished ! The Black Sea does not look black ... In fact it looks like any other sea. Lunch at a seafood restaurant.     ... quite hilly until we then began our descent back to the Black Sea. A good part of the journey leaving Istanbul took us through many industrial areas. Then we were into rolling countryside with dairy industry and logging. There were several surprises including livestock (cows and chickens) on a 4 lane highway. The final descent into Amasra was a narrow twisty road. The town is very pretty. The town derives its name from Amastris who was the daughter of ...
