... there in the off season, we felt like this sea-side town was ours alone. When we showed up it was cold and rainy, but that didnt stop us walking all over town, climbing over the walls, and playig giant chess against Brett (1-0 Andrew). ... we found ourselves at the airport! A minor detour, but we got on the right road fairly quickly and everything was fine from then on.

We drove through some very rural villages where cows and sheep were casually walking down the high street and no one even blinked an eyelid! It was quite an experience. When we got closer to the coast there was a light dusting of snow on the ground and it was sleeting lightly. I'd checked the weather forecast before we left and ...

... dinner at the restaurant in the picture. The staff at the restaurants are very pleasant and accommodating even though we don't share the same language and communication involves a lot of pointing. Zelma had fish and the staff brought a plate showing the different kinds of fish to explain the menu. It seems there are also a lot of stray dogs and cats in Turkey but it seems they become village pets and are fed scraps. Most animals seem to be very ...
