... his special glasses. He pointed to where the hospital was located. At this point, I realized why it had taken so long for him to get us: he must have stopped there before picking us up!!! *&^%#!!! To top it all off, just after telling us that his vision is impaired, while driving on the windy road, he fumbled around for his cell phone. I was stunned that he would now start calling or texting someone but what he wanted to do was show us pictures of ...

We decided not to go to town and walked the road home stopping on the way to buy gyros (a pitta bread wrap) from a restaurant and eat it on our balcony where we sat for sometime until we cooled down ( we sat naked on our balcony to help us cool down) and felt tired enough to go straight to asleep about midnight. We had a quick lunch at Ios Bakery and then meandered the little alleyways around the hill - really cute with canopies of flowers hanging over the walkways and decorating the whitewashed buildings. The town has a mixture of clothing and jewellery boutiques, cafés and bars - perfect for tourists, and it was easy to imagine that it would be pumping in summer.

The rest of the day was very low key - a 2 hour nap ...

... shirt off". I started to sober up fairly quickly when the clubs we went to were getting more and more overcrowded. It was far too busy and hot so I decided to head home with a couple of guys also in our tour group. We couldn't find the 24 hour bakery so had to make do with Doritos on the 30 minute walk. The next day I woke with a headache and a hangover but I wasn't as bad off as our tour guide who had managed to break her toe at some point the night before. She ...
