Although scenically Yalta and the surrounding area is reminiscent of the French Riviera with pretty bays and vineyard covered hillsides, the promenade and its surrounding streets are pure Jersey Shore – cheap bars, restaurants, souvenir stands and fairground rides, all catering primarily to Russian tourists.
