    ... the local shops - well, souvenir shops that are everywhere and contain pretty much the same merchandise. On our way back to the ship Bruce took off his sandals at a small beach and “paddled” in the water. He has been wanting to have a swim in the Aegean Sea since we left Hobart but it hasn’t happened yet (mainly because we haven’t been near any beaches).     After a day at sea (and some time to recharge our batteries), we were in Rhodes today. It was hot, especially in the enclosed alleys of the old town.
