    ... have known it would take long with that comment. Several calls and almost two hours later, we were picked up by a young Greek guy.
    When we told him we were from Texas, he said "oh, I am scared of you now" and made the universal sign for gun shooting! Then, as he drove us out of the harbor town of Parikia, he told us he had been in a motorcycle accident a few years back and had been in a coma. His eye was still messed up and he had to go to the hospital ...

    ... s - this included an umbrella, a table, and the service of the restaurant staff if you were too lazy to go and get your own things. Also there was plenty of African touters selling their wares from designer handbags , watches, clothes, DVDs, Greek CD's hats and so on. Having said that there is little if any touting in Greece and no hard sell. Shortly after 11am the loungers were pretty much filled / sold out - our neighbours were a couple from Manchester both men but very nice ...

    ... Aussies here it was crazy, I swear half of Australia was in Ios. Far Out is known for its crazy day turn night parties.     ... caught on, and with Greece full of marble, it was henceforth used for statues, structures and buildings across Greece. The quarries are huge and the exposed marble hillsides are an awesome sight. The statues were sculpted at the quarry, then transported to where they would stay. These were huge distances and the 6 metre statues must have weighed a tonne. You can't help but appreciate their ingenuity of the Ancient Greeks, not only in making those huge marble ...

    ... of one of my favorite desserts (a taste is all he enjoyed, so I enjoyed the rest!). Despite our best intentions to head to another beach for (hopeful) snorkeling, once we drove the 12km down the mountain to Motsouna Beach, it was clear that the wind had taken over (yet again) and we were probably out of luck.
